Art is a unique world—the expression of the human mind, soul, and emotions. It is this world that inspires our young artist, who strives to express his inner vision through his work and offer people new perspectives.

InterNews.info sat down with young artist and graphic designer Harutyun Harutyunyan to discuss his artistic journey, inspiration, and future goals.
Hello, Harutyun. Thank you for accepting our invitation. To begin, could you tell us how your journey into art started?
Harutyun Harutyunyan:
Hello, and thank you for inviting me.
Everything began on April 1, 1990—the day I was born. My love for art developed in early childhood. My parents often told me that even before I turned two years old, I preferred playing with colored pencils instead of toys.
I have an academic education and am professionally trained as both a painter and a graphic designer. Since 2024, I have been living in the United States.

Why did you decide to move to the United States?
It wasn’t a decision I had planned in advance—it simply happened that way. I truly love America as a country of opportunities.
It’s enjoyable working with people here. When Americans learn that I’m an artist, they become genuinely interested. They want to see my work and talk about art.
In the United States, I mainly focus on painting and participate in various exhibitions. One of my greatest joys has been meeting talented artists here. Together, we try to introduce Armenian art and culture to the American art community.
However, only a few days after moving here, I faced a major challenge—I broke my arm. The recovery lasted several months. I could barely move my hand, and painting with a broken arm was extremely difficult. But I believe that when people face difficult situations, they discover strengths they never knew they had.

What inspires you?
There are many sources of inspiration, but if I had to choose one, it would be the desire to live.
I believe that an artist creates regardless of circumstances. Creating is an inner necessity.
Which of your paintings is your favorite?
My favorite painting is one I haven’t created yet.
At the moment, I would highlight my work “The Road to Knowledge.” It carries symbolic meaning and an educational message. Like many of my works, it was created using the mathematical principle of the Golden Ratio.
I believe that the more knowledge a person possesses, the more opportunities will open before them. But the most important thing is believing in the power of that knowledge.
What does it take to become a great artist?
I believe people are not made into artists simply through education—they are born artists.
Of course, anyone can learn to draw and improve their technique, but being an artist has a much deeper meaning.
An artist views the world through the prism of art. They have an inner need to create, regardless of the difficulties they encounter.
Artists possess a unique energy that is difficult to describe with words—it simply has to be felt. They have the mission of bringing new colors and fresh perspectives to the world.
A true artist must remain honest with their art and continue their journey with determination, overcoming every obstacle.
What themes do you explore in your artwork?
I want to follow a path that no one has taken before and create a new artistic direction.
Through my paintings, I try to reveal things that we all see but often fail to notice.
Before falling asleep, when we close our eyes, many people see a dark blue and violet background where tiny sparks seem to move. Different images begin to appear, and I try to transfer those visions onto the canvas.
At first, many people don’t understand what I’ve painted. But once I explain the idea, they often tell me they’ve experienced the same feelings themselves.
My goal is to encourage people to look more deeply into their own inner world.

What are your goals for the coming years?
My goal is to collaborate with professionals in the art industry and with art dealers, while making my work known to the widest possible audience.
Have you ever thought about giving up? If so, what gave you the strength to continue?
I have never thought about giving up, and I don’t even want to think about it.
There is still a long creative journey ahead of me.
What would you like to say to our readers?
Whatever you do, do it with love and sincerity.
Continue learning and gaining knowledge because the power of knowledge is one of humanity’s greatest strengths.
What advice would you give to young artists who are just beginning their journey?
No matter what challenges you face, keep moving forward, believe in yourself, and never give up.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Once again, I would like to sincerely thank you for the invitation.
